Author Ann Parr has been acquainted with Coach Winter and his team ideas—on and off the court—for more than twenty-five years. Ann Parr was born and raised in north-central Kansas. At age 58, she decided to return to school and earned her MFA in writing for children from Vermont College in 2004.
After she read an article in her local newspaper about fellow native Kansan Gordon Parks, she was inspired to write his story.
